I always felt the need to understand about Mind. It is indeed mystical for most of us ,unless we pay attention to it. It remains mystical even if we try to fathom it. One who can gain the complete control of the mind , become yogi and attains utmost happiness. Of course success will be his.
Sadhguru constantly talks about distancing ourselves from our mind & body. He tells us to view all these 3 entities separately which is not easy. 3 separate entities working in full synchronization will lead to a balanced man and free from all the miseries created. One can read his book Mind is your Business to get a deeper insights about what is mind about.
While I was reading the book and after finishing the book, I started observing what was my mind doing. May be a funny analogy, I felt mind was just like a blender we use in kitchen. How ?
Everyday from dawn to dusk , there are hundreds or thousands of things we will be exposed to. So many things penetrating to our mind has terrific impact on the mind. Irrespective of whether good is being fed to mind or bad is fed, mind just accept those things. What is the output of those things you have fed into mind ? I say it is THOUGHTS. Thoughts are nothing but the selective processed content fed in to the mind. If we have fed so many good things , then thoughts automatically will be good else bad thoughts come out of the mind. Thoughts lead to actions & words which are witneseed by the external world. Thoughts may not be visible but definitely actions & words are going to be. So many great persons have asked us to watch the thoughts. But I feel we also should watch how thoughts are generated. For that we have to be extremely careful about what we feed to the mind. We should work on the input to the mind. Consciously decide not to feed bad things on to the mind. Just like if we put good fruits to the blender, we get good juice after processing , we have to put some great,excellent, pure , honest things to the mind. Not the mistake of mind if it is generating bad thoughts , because 'you' fed some bad things to the tender mind.
